Suffolk Show selfies and fun

Stephen Foster with Elmer and friends at the Suffolk Show 2018

What a fantastic couple of days we had at the Suffolk Show this year! Beautiful weather, wonderful hosts, lovely company…

It really was good fun to get Elmer and his two friends, Elmer Armstrong and Imagination Can Take You Anywhere, out in the sunshine and meeting the public. They got a great reception and it was clear that people are really excited for the next big art trail in 2019.

We had selfies galore, with lots of passers-by stopping for a snap. Some well-known, some not so well-known, but everyone wanted to be seen with Elmer! We would still love to see your pictures so if you have any to share, please post them on our Facebook page – just search Elmer’s Big Parade Suffolk, or @elmersuffolk19.

Grace Hayward at the Suffolk ShowIt was also brilliant to meet Grace Hayward, the daughter of one of sponsor Homestyle UK’s employees. Grace, pictured left, has been making and selling pom pom chicks and visited us on the stand to present us with a cheque for £451 all in aid of St Elizabeth Hospice.

Fourteen of our partners and sponsors were present at the Show and we ran a small trail for families to complete. Participants had to track down the ‘hidden’ posters on our partner and sponsor stands, completing the missing letters to find a Parade related phrase, before entering it into our free prize draw. Congratulations to Jack, and his mum Anna, who were the successful pair, winning an Elmer goody bag to reward their efforts.

We’re already looking forward to next year, when we really will be in the throes of organisation, and instead of 12 months, it will be more like 12 days to go!
